Greg,

The two photos of 461 were taken at Browns. It was on the Placerville side of Dallas Divide. Both shots show the train headed towards Placerville. As I recall the tank lasted for a while after the scrapping of the railroad. Rock slides on the road caused the highway to be relocated onto the grade. When that happened they tore down the tank. There were beaver ponds right near here we used to go fishing in. I was about 6 or 7 at the time so I may be remembering the time line a little wrong.
