By my reckoning, at 5PM on the 7th, the yard at Chama would have been full of engines - 478, 482, 483, 484, 485, 487 and 489. 476 and 481 were in Durango, the 473 was in transit to Alamosa on 116 and 488 was in transit from Durango to Chama. That left nothing at Alamosa (I don't know if there were any servicable K-27s at Alamosa), since I believe the 480 and 486 were sitting cold and unused at Salida.
