It is sorta unfortunate that the jeep club cleaned up the roadbed. Yes they restored some structures but they also tore up all that rail and ties. There were still ties in place across the palisades and there might have been some rail. I'm not sure if the Rio Grande ever got around to scrapping the line from Alpine to Pitkin. What happened to all this rail and ties anyway?
