This is a set of comparison shots taken in Hawthorne, NV. The "Then" shot is from Ferrell's SPNG book and is purported to be the first train into Hawethorne on April 14, 1881.
The "Now" shot is 128 years later (June 14, 2009). The original location of the shot was a little north of here but was blocked by modern buildings. Much has changed and the only clear indication a railroad ran through town is the preserved Freight Depot in town.
