HOn3 engines as static display

I model in HOn3 D&RGW and all my engines are Blackstone since I went back into the HOn3 scale, so all are DCC which as far as I'm concerned is the only way to go in this day and time. Just wondering if any of you out there take your old brass engines and convert them over to DCC or just use them as static displays on the layout. I would like to have a C-16, probably a Westside model, but not to sure if adding DCC and sound makes much sense to one of these engines, I can do the work myself, but at what cost and I don't think the value is there when finished. I don't think Blackstone will ever get their K-28 and K-36 to market as I have been waiting for three years for them and still on the drawing board. Just wondering what you think on this, thanks.
