Could have been added to the freight to get them to Salida for a fan trip or they could have been being moved to Alamosa via the Valley line. I have acertained it was somewhat easy to get permission to ride on a freight back in those days. Maybe this guy just lucked out and got this special movement documented on an arranged trip while he was out visiting the area. I'm thankful either way. Hopefully more footage of the Marshall Pass operations will surface in the future. Thanks.
