if anything the wood slats should be smaller in width. they look a bit wide. however i don't know any exact dimensions; i'm just going off the bench's around the D&S, specifically the one in silverton. i've spent a decent amount of time with it haha (waiting on trains coming and going).
i do know that people must have been a lot skinnier in the old days because the frames are pretty close together, and would be a tight fit for many.
one of the arm rests was missing for a long time and made a nice, roomy double wide seat, but it got replaced at some point recently and i don't enjoy sitting in such a confined space as much.
