Re: "Interesting" paint scheme on K-36

IIRC, the Tuscan Red with Gold Trim was applied to #483 by the D&RGW for the movie 'The Good
Guys and the Bad Guys' in September, 1968, and lasted through the C&TS work-train extras of 1970.
#483 was painted black (with an unlettered tender) for the first few passenger trains of 1971, and the
'CUMBRES & TOLTEC SCENIC RR' (with herald) lettering was applied to both #483 & #484 by 1972.

I don't remember ANY green jackets during my visits in the early seventies, late eighties or mid nineties - but that doesn't mean it never happened.   #499 had a green jacket for a RMRRC excursion in 1948 or 1949, #489 was dolled up in 1950, and there are apparently some color photos from the forties showing at least one other engine with the D&RGW Dark Olive Green Boiler Jacket Enamel that was the standard for standard-gauge engines in the thirties, but that photo hasn't (yet) been posted on the NGDF ...
