Russ, I think the cadence depends on how the ringer is set up, or possibly the manufacturer if there is more than one. The late, non-lamented one on the 19 sounded more like clang-clang-clang-clang-clang. Back in the 1970's and 80's the cadence on the U.P.'s diesels sounded almost natural although the steel bells did not. The electronic bells now are not even in the running.
