I've often thought that a dual-gauge car shop + enclosed/covered storage for historical equipment would be a great Antonito facility. Presuming you could work it out with the UP, a facility between the original wye and the existing C&TS trackage would provide easy access for both gauges, and allow for various historical rebuilds to occur.
You could store much of the existing Chama freight equipment under cover there (where there's not as much snow) and do gradual rebuilds in the off-seaason. Presumably, you could generate enough revenue doing standard gauge car work that you could keep a year-round staff busy.
Any thoughts on this?
