Proof, I have none.

I used to volunteer at CCN about 1970 for a couple of years, not sure but I moved to S CA before before he closed up shop. #2 was on site for a while, I was on it. I remember stopping at the mill site and noticing it was gone,asking about it and being told it was at CCN. Probably had a picture but no longer do.

I think it was there for most of the summer. Yes it ran, if you are to believe Wilmunder. I missed that weekend, possibly two weekends. I remember my disappointment in not being told. The story was the boiler permit was about to expire and they did it just to have done it. Wilmunder told me he had no expectations of being able to return it to service. I have no idea if it ran beyond yard limits or moved a car.
