Thanks for the photo Rich. That is where I will always remember Roger, in the woodshop. Not only was Roger our resident professional carpenter, he was the guy we would send in our wood and hardware orders to for our projects each summer. You could always count on the wood being there waiting for you each work session.
When I look at all the projects that the Friends do each summer, there is hardly a one that he wasn't involved in either directly, or in a support role, or usually both. When you look back at what a project OB was, requiring EVERY PIECE of wood being replaced, some of them as thick as 10x14", I wonder if it would be finished like it is today without his leadership.
Roger was honored in 2008 with the General Palmer Award which is the highest award in the Friends organization that a member can receive acknowledging his decades of service in helping preserve the CATS. He is rightly in an exclusive club as there have been only 3 or 4 General Palmer Awards ever given.
