We understand J. W. Hopper had bad luck with his engine last Saturday [11/4/05] and burned the crown sheet. That is too bad, as he is a faithful engineer.
SS Oct 30.1905 [Not related as Mr. Jas W. Hopper lives in Alamosa] Neglected duties of the night watchman at the roundhouse of the Silverton Northern railroad here caused the burning of a boiler in one of the locomotives last Wednesday[10/25/1905]. The engine is a dead one, and will soon have to be taken to Alamosa for repairs.
