Another advantage to visors is that they shelter the headlight lens from the soot and other misc. slobber coming from the stack. A few mornings of semi liquid snot from a cold engine can really block the light, combined with the heat of a high wattage bulb to bake it on, and you can make a career of trying to clean it off again.
