Hi Craig, talked to John tonight, (and no, I am not talking to myself), and he says they are planning to build replica trucks that would have been the correct type on that car when new. He said that the plan for now is to use steel where there would have been wood in the original composite trucks as it assures a bigger safety margin, and is less maintenance.

They had a work session today by the way, and removed almost all of the MOW additions that were added to the car over the years. The structure of the car is sound, but a great portion of the interior wood must be replaced due to water damage.

As a side note, the #0252 numbering will be retired when the car returns to passenger car service and will get it's original 470 number back.
