Two of the photos are related to my family.

(1) The shot of 476 as #7, I believe to be the 1954 Excursion that ran from Alamosa-Durango-Silverton, and return. This was the trip where they ran the N???? diesel on the point Durango to Silverton. My dad shot movies of this trip from the Cupola of a caboose near the front of the train. It was his first visit to the area.

(2) The shot of 490 was indeed 1956, and the first NG train I ever rode when I was 5 years old. There is a movie clip of me climbing into the cab of 490, I think at Antonito. So we were on the same fantrip in 1956.

Both of the above can be seen in a video we did called"Riding the Narrow Gauge in the 1950's". Glad you got some pictures and hope to see more of everything in the area you shot.
