I was looking for some other information and stumbled across these lawsuits. Within them, they do summarize the situation between IRCA and United Fruit Co. aka "Chiquita" now United Brands (with some mention of the Standard Fruit Company aka "Dole") in the 1950s and 1960s that resulted in the decline of banana traffic and other factors resulting in the eventual failure of IRCA. Note that the case was still being argued in the 1970s, long after IRCA had failed.
