In November 1989 I rode the 4449 from Yakima, WA to Ellensburg along the beautiful Yakima River Canyon. At Ellensburg the 4449 ran around the train to head tender first towards Yakima. I had met Doyle several times before and when I saw him in the cab I said how about a cab ride and he said YES! As we passed next to the concession car we stopped and picked up food for everyone in the cab, and their was about 8 of us. I will never forget riding in that great 4-8-4 doing 45 mph along the river enjoying lunch!
