While the NG Shay sits, the museum recently saw the return of their other operating Shay, the standard gauge Mayo Lumber No. 3, which was leased to the Kettle Valley Railway on the mainland (near Lake Okanagan) for several years. Not sure of its condition, however, it looks like it's still a running engine is in safe indoor storage beside Hillcrest Climax No. 9. There was talk of laying some dual-gauge trackage when I visited the museum about a decade ago.
