Re: K-36 abd K-37 frames

The K-36 frame plans I have (card 10812, file L-346, from livesteamlocomotives.com) have notes in a couple spots such as "TAP FOR 5/8" STUDS K-37 CL. ONLY" for instance, indicating several spots along the top of the frame rail, probably related to brake rigging (?).

The drawing shows the frame extension for the K-36 (the 36 is referenced on the drawing as "189 CL." in several locations) with a note and a 2nd drawing of the rear of the K-37 main frame (where it bolts to the extension) showing that section as an inch lower than on the 36. Bolt hole locations seem to be the same. The note indicates a separate K-37 frame extension drawing - card "12373-L-246". This would indicate that they requested these minor modifications from Baldwin after they decided to use the 2-8-0 boilers on-hand, wouldn't it? There is also a note indicating the patterns were "MADE & STORED AT AMERICAN STEEL FDRY. CO's PLANT".

I'm only reading off the plans (D&RGW OFFICE MECH. ENG. DENVER - with 3 dates: 1/8/29, JAN. 8,1930, and 9(?)-9-30) and make no claims of expertise. I'm not sayin', I'm just sayin'.
