John; I don't have a map in front of me so this is all from memory. Between Big Horn and Sublette
there is a round top hump that lays N & S and extends south to the Toltec valley. By getting out and rolling the rocks out of the way it was
accessable by 2wd from the Antonito-Chama road.
I have been down there some three times chasing
west bound trains. The distance down to the Toltec was such that you could get pictures on the E side and have ample time to get over to the west side of the hump before the train got there.
I don't remember how many cars they were pulling but the second engine was cut into the middle of the train.
ON the east bound triple headers what was the
engine arrangement?
Oh yes. On the W side of the hump there were
"Dump Here" signs so we got to see them drop ashes
on the fly. Got pictures of that somewhere.
