Hi, Chris -

IIRC, the crewman feeding the oversized sticks of "Tootsie Roll" into the gun briefly stuck
each one into the hot overflow from the injector beforehand. One reason this lubrication is
done at the end of the day rather than at the beginning of the next one is that the bearings
are still quite warm from use and the grease goes in a lot easier.

Also IIRC - more than half my life ago, when I was a volunteer on the AFT maintenance
crew for #4449 and #610 - we dipped them into a small can of valve oil before insertion.
