Switchmen were (are) on a separate switchmen seniority roster. At the time of this posting they were represented by the Switchmen's Union of North America. They held rights in only their respective yards.

Though on these postings I have referred to some of the names as conductors they were actually switch foreman. Normally switch crews consisted of a switch foreman and 2 helpers. These crews were not used in road service except in cases of emergency or specifically instructed.
