The rough cut lumber was Englemann Spruce which probably originated at the San Juan Mill in Durango, to be used in the unseen portions of quality hard wood furniture that is produced heavily in the South East. Quality hard woods are native to that area. Today, quite often particle board is used instead of non furniture grade lumber.
