Hi,
Sorry about the off topic post.
The first three volumes of my
Civil Engineering for Outdoor Railroad books all include programs to help make the usefulness of the book's as broad as possible for all reader's.
I used Borland C++ Builder 5 which was a 32-bit DOS based compiler.
I lost my installation CDs were lost in a move about 2013. I had the hard drive that had the compiler fail on me.
I need to recompile for a 64-bit system (Windows 7 and newer).
I need help in locating a new compiler. Since C++ is very close to JAVA, I would not be against changinf to JAVA.
1) Do you have a recommendation for a new compiler?
2) I can not afford a new compiler (about $500.00). I'm looking for something a few years old but not older than Borland C++ Builder 5.
3) Does anyone have disks that I can purchase or trade for (turtable kits or books)?
4) Is there an on-line compiler service?
Thanks.
Doug vV
As an aside, volume 4 might not need any programs. It will incude an update on Surveying (covered in Volume 1) using GPS and cover Live Steam Signaling.
