Herr Russo,
Ich verstehe alles, was Sie sagen, aber alles ist nicht ganz richtig deutsch. Now to English. I do like your phrases, and get a good laugh when I read them.. My "proper" Deutsch is not as good as it used to be as is my spelling, but I try. I also get caught in using Englisch/Deutsch as you do. The German I learned as a child was the Minnesota German of my great-grandfather, grandfather, and father, which I was the last member of my family to learn to speak as a child. I last really spoke in 1973, when my family visited family and friends in Minn (getting close to 50 years ago). We all thought my sister (who only learned "proper" Deutsch in college) was a good laugh when she would interrupt us while we were speaking with a, "you are all saying it all wrong". We all understood one another and didn't let her bother us.
Thanks for each of the times you remind me of the Minnesota Deutsch I learned as a child (although I was born in Calif. grew up in rural Chatsworth before it became "citified").
