Making mistakes (even very minor ones like this) is how you learn.
At least you can bicycle to the site from campus.
Did you see the photo that Todd alluded to? Imagine the money spent in that 1/2 mile on those two bridges. I guess that's why the GSL&P line was abandoned in 1894.
One thing that Todd didn't mention, however, was that there were other reasons that the line wasn't rebuilt, besides the obvious flood damage. One was because the line didn't have the anticipated traffic (neither did the C&N-W for that matter). The second other was that in October of 1893 the GSL&P's parent company, the UP, had declared bankruptcy and there was no money available to rebuild it.
