The area has sand dunes that seem to have moved around. I recall seeing a photo of the out-of-service narrow gauge line at the junction being covered by a sand dune.

Some of the car-part rubble at the junction may from the burning and scraping of cars from the Tonopah & Goldfield after it was abandoned.
