When I rode the line this autumn, I thought about what the line might look like (from the train) after the trackwork is all done. My conclusion was that the foreground, downhill side of the train will be littered with a jumble of dumped ties. It would stay like that until 50 years from now when they will have mostly rotted away.
I applaud the effort to rebuild the line, but bring this point up for some to consider... Should the Friends make a work session out of picking up the discards from the track projects? Dumped ties, or other garbage for that matter, don't add to my experience of riding the railroad.
