"Silveton Branch
On December 21, 1959, Rio Grande filed application with the Interstate Commerce Commission for authority to abandon its Silverton Branch narrow gauge railroad extending from Durango to Silverton, Colorado, a distance of 45.6 miles. Following an unfavorable report by the Interstate Commerce Commission Examiner, the matter was argued orally to the Commission, which entered its report and order on April 23, 1962, denying the application. The Company will not appeal the order."
