I love this - 15 minutes for a broken spring hanger. I'd love to know the details of this escapade. Typically a broken spring hanger is a fairly significant issue that is only correctable by replacement, which is not usually a real quick job on the road. Quick fixes usually involve some kind of blocking which partially disables the equalizing to an extent dependent upon which hanger broke. Any disabling of the equalizing detracts from tracking quality. Sometimes chain can be used if clearance allows and this usually allows the equalizing to work normally. Any way you look at it, 15 minutes is pretty impressive to fix the problem well enought to handle the train all the way to Salida.
