In sorting through my old slides I have come across two that I cannot figure out. Both mounts are stamped May 1997, so they must have been part of the Greg Scholl "chased by a train" and "first train to Osier" charters. Our train to Osier was headed by 484 (with 489's tender), but these show our train east of Cumbres with the 497. I have no recollection of going east of Cumbres with the 497. I think the first picture is on Tanglefoot, and the second is almost certainly on the east side of Los Pinos valley. I think the second is the 497 but cannot be absolutely sure, even blowing up the image. But how did we get there with the 497. The third image is us arriving at Osier with the 484. My mental hard drive is missing bits…maybe corrupted. Help. Greg knows the answer I'm sure.
