"Hi Jimmy, I don't understand your post
Where am I wrong here? I thought the interest was in the connection from the Valley line to the Marshall Pass line Gunnison Extension"
I meant to add to the geographical west and railroad west.
"It appears you are referring to one connection and I am (mistakenly) referring to the other. At this point I can only say the connection you are questioning was constructed around the same time as the line to Villa Grove, 1881."
I was trying to disagree by saying that It was not built in the 1880s because this did not show in these old photos, and that conflicted to Jerry Day's belief of being with the original line construction. It is likely as Jerry says, one of those dates of history to small to find recorded. It will only be proven by photographs. Thanks to all for the interest, map, aerial, and photos, especally the current photos taken to match the site. I had never known of that all-way junction being like that.
Speaking of the Valley Line, I love "Uncle" Bob's photos. Why two dates?
