Ridership has held up reasonably well under the circumstances. In the three days following the tragedy, the C&TS handled a total of 133 fewer passengers than on the comparable days last year. Several tour groups cancelled, probably due in part to airline problems. I am still waiting for last week's numbers (our bookkeeper was out for several days), but yesterday Dan mentioned that this past Saturday the C&TS handled over 700 passengers. Through September 14, the last date for which I have actual numbers, the C&TS had handled 41,143 passengers so far this year, compared to 35,575 by the same time last year. About 30 percent of the C&TS's passengers ride during the last five weeks of the season, so fall color is critical to us. Fortunately for the C&TS and the D&S, during this period a high proportion of passengers are from the Denver to Albuquerque market.
