Streamlining a K-36?

I suspect that I may have discovered the secret behind NGDF: Georgia Tech's K-36 - maybe they borrowed one in order to do some wind tunnel testing?

Here's a link to an item that ran in the Monday, June 01, 2009 issue of the Durango Herald: Durango Herald: Naked train still can't win Iron Horse race

You'll recall the locomotive "won" twice thanks to late May snowstorms that forced the event's cancellation.

The train needs a new secret weapon other than freak weather.

I think they're doing wind-tunnel testing as part of their development of the "new secret weapon" - streamlining. Certainly that should be enough to beat the bikes to Silverton, right?
