Grizzly Flats "Chloe" origins?

Gentlemen,

At the request of a friend I've been going though the Baldwin Spec books trying to find the builders information for Ward Kimball's "Chloe"

According to information on this board and the internet it was built in 1917 for the Waimanalo Sugar Plantation (though possibly sold under a brokers name) as their #2, with 7" x 10" cylinders and carried the name "Pokaa"

That would make it Baldwin Class 6-8 1/3C

Baldwin Spec Books show no Class 6-8 1/3C were built in 1916, 1917 or 1918. Which means it was probably added onto a previously existing spec sheet for another engine order years earlier.

Meaning I would have to look though the previous 6-8 1/3C spec sheets looking for a locomotive added to the spec in the 1916-1917 time frame.

As a starting point I looked up the spec sheet for it's one known sister locomotive the "Olomana" (1882 built 6-8 1/3C-16 with the name "Puaalii") which it shares with the 1880 built 6-8 1/3C-9, but no mention of any other engines built at a later date.

However, the spec sheet says the 6-8 1/3C-9, named "Thomas Cummins", received a new boiler per an Extra Order issued in 1916!

Was the "Chloe" built in 1880 not 1917?? It just had a new boiler with Extra Order plates on it from 1917??

PDF of spec sheet will be available for a limited time here: [dl.dropbox.com]

Can anyone positively identify the Chloe's class number, which should be stamped repeatedly all over the locomotive? 6-8 1/3C-9?

Thank you for your time,

Curtis F.
