I'm with you on this one. I don't understand when something is to be replaced on this historic site it is not kept as close to the original as possible. Bit by bit pieces of the historic record are being eroded away by the inattention to small details like this.
Another example is using one of two flatcars left in existence to create a "rider gon" that looks like a box on wheels, not a piece of railroad equipment. They could have built something from scratch if this was the result they wanted. Another piece of history lost.
