I vote for Green -
NO, I am NOT talking about green boiler jackets (although rumor
has it that Roger is bending Soni's ear in that direction, too ... )
It's 'cause Roger is ALWAYS leading the way -
either by showing us or telling us about special places - such as "Roger's Rock" overlooking Windy Point - or demonstrating fascinating new Ex-Sperry-Mental* photography and/or photo editing techniques.
IIRC, green indicates the first - or at least not the last - section of a train, with the rest of us following along. And if the rest of us aren't following Roger's lead then we are taking a chance on being left waaay behind on a siding somewhere ... !

(In the olden days, before the C&TS, I was a high school chemistry teacher; our primary textbook was titled "Chemistry - An Experimental Science". I always wrote the real title on the (dark green) chalkboard ... )
