The Conejos River bridge is a pin connected truss that dates back to the 1880's. It is very similar to the two spans across the Chama River. All these spans came off the North Fork Branch near Delta and were replaced up there with higher capacity spans. These replaced spans were installed in the 1920's during the major upgrading the NG lines got way back then.

That old bridge, dating from the 1880's still carries 130-ton cars of of perlite and scoria rock 5 days/week. Not bad at all.
