Today was the official 50th anniversary calibration. I attended, and for me, the highlight was listening to Cornelius Hauck give an overly brief history of the collection, and the founding of the museum. I still hope to see the whole story in print some day.
Donald followed up with a brief talk about more recent events and plans.
There were really no surprises, but it was a suitable and satisfying event and was followed by a grand procession of all the operable locomotives and geese passing the review stand.
