I'll have to post some pictures--we are working on the SN engine house doors right now as part of the overall grant for restoring the trackage. My business partner, Loren Lew, is relaying the stone footer across the 2 door openings and on top of that goes the door sill which we have milled down from a D&RGW bridge timber we acquired some time back. The center door posts are being lifted, the front of the structure is leaning and we're awaiting word if CHS will approve some additional money to straighten it--also needed to get the doors to sit square within the frames. The DRHS guys were up over the weekend working on the track pit inside the building and uncovered the original support timbers that look good to me. A water line was installed to support a fire hydrant near the structure.
We have a small contract as part of the overall project, but it is neat to be working around the 315, even with its cover. And, the 493 received a much needed coat of black paint and silver/aluminun trim in the past few days from the Durango D&S crew, and though no boiler lagging or jacketing was replaced, she is regaining her dignity.
