Questions Regarding The Original Paint Scheme Used On The First Generation Of C&TSRR 6500 Series Passenger Coaches in 1983

I was flipping through my 1989 copy of Ticket to Toltec and came upon the strangest photo displaying the first batch of 6500 series passenger coaches in 1983 sitting out front of the Antonito shop adorn in a 2 tone white and dark like color combination with 2 C&TSRR logos plastered on the bottom corners of the car. 

With this discovery I was intrigued regarding the schemes history and was eager to know if anyone could answer my following questions. 

When was this scheme removed? 
Was this paint scheme originally the one selected for the cars first outings?

Any help would be well praised!
