My son's Cub Scout Troop had its annual Pinewood Derby today and parents are allowed to enter trains...oops, I meant cars, also. This was my entry into the competition.
I was attempting to copy the current look of 41 at Knott's and the engineer is my friend Jason Van Horn who currently works at the park with Jeff Taylor (I didn't have a picture of Jeff in the cab).
This locomotive is actually more like broad gauge perhaps, but when you are working with a block of wood and the supplied axles and wheels you do what you can. No tender required as this train only goes downhill and requires no brakes. And no I didn't win.
One other note - For all of you rivet counters out there I know it is not completely accurate so I don't want to start hearing from you on what is not exactly correct.
