A related question might be, to what extent are the older cars "original". I put original in quotes since the DRGW may have made some changes before the D&S took over. I suppose of particular interest would be the vestibuled San Juan stock.

Antidotally, I have ridden several mixed train charters over the years and the coaches we had looked fairly "DRGW", but I am hardly a sufficient expert to pick the nits.
