Summer of '72

491, 499 and an unidentified K-36 resting in what was left of the Alamosa yards in '72.

Took these shots at Alamosa sometime in summer of '72 (had to be, went to a movie on that trip that came out in '72). Had an old Argus 35mm (not SLR) and at 17 wasn't much of a photographer. Had prints made of the slides (don't know where the slides went, long time ago) and the prints haven't aged well. Worked 'em over in Photoshop a little. What I really needed back then was another 200 rolls of film and a better camera and a better idea of what to shoot. Oh well.

I can't remember what was still standing, I know the shops were gone by then, but it looks like a corner of the roundhouse in the top shot. I thought I remembered the engine hoist too, but maybe not.
