No. Primary problem are previous patches from long ago, and the thinning of the boiler shell in some places due to rust while it was on display/stored. To operate at full capacity needed for Loop operations and to meet FRA standards, it would either need extensive work to the existing boiler or a new one.

About 3-1/2 weeks to opening day, I wonder what motive power will be be used on the Loop this year? Rumors are the #12 was never finished, #1203 had the engine torn apart for an overhaul (even though it seems to have ran most of last year), and the #111 is ??????????? #21 for opening day as usual?
