Re: D&RGW Caboose 04990 (Boulder)

We started some work on 04990 today, mostly removing the charcoal that was the interior siding from the inside of the car. Most of the wall structure seems to have survived the inferno OK, the cupola and most of the roof are a total loss.

We had hoped to get more done, but our site was vistited by the vandalsim fairy last night (in the form of a loser wearing size 12 Vans who liked to kick things) so most of our time was used up in fixing the damage yet again. It gets really old having the losers of the world keep returning you to square one over and over again. In the 9 years that the BCRHS has had the display site. more time and money has been spent repairing vandalism damage than anything else. If people would just leave our stuff alone, most of it would be fixed by now.
