This was my first trip to Chama. I enjoyed my stay. My comments were not meant to be derogatory in any way. They were the first three things other then seeing the mountains, that reminded me that I wasn't in Kansas anymore. I actually had to go in and ask if 85 octane gas was OK for my rental car when I stopped for gas in Antonito. As I drove down Hwy 17 between 9 and 10pm, I realized that I was on open range when I came around a corner and found a herd of cattle on the road, and my radio scan button was only picking up Spanish programming and I believe an Indian station. Those were the immediate noticeable differences. As far as similarities go, the young lady working the concession car on the train the next day had a pierced tongue. Just goes to show how small the world has become
