IMHO they should have sent 1361 to the Strasburg. They might have been high bid at the outset, but ultimately it would have been less expensive, and it would have been done by now. I have heard from reliable sources that of the two surviving K4s' the 1361 was in the worst shape to begin with. The one from Northumberland had received a class shopping before being retired, while "the Curve" engine was in regular service not too long before it was stuffed and mounted.
