I just had a chance to watch True Grit again, on DVD (amazing qualiy, btw):

What surprised me was the scenes of the depot - you can clearly see the old Ridgway depot's residence portion disconnected, rotated, and made into a nicely-painted white house.

BUT - the freight house portion still existed, very run down in D&RGW colors. The film crew created a 'ticket window' on the southern end, covering the freight house doors, since the real window was in the portion of the building that had been removed.

Why did the freight house portion exist so long, especially after the building had been cut apart? I'm guessing the filming was done about 1968, so this is years after the RGS' demise. Remind me again someone - how long did the D&RGW have a standard gauge connection to Ridgway from Montrose?
